The rose has long been a symbol of love and passion since ancient times. And has been the most popular choice for weddings -from bouquets, aisle decorations, to table center pieces. Though the most common rose color is of course red which means romantic love, passion. The white rose means purity and innocence. Yellow rose means friendship and joy. A pink rose expresses appreciation and gratitude. Orange desire and fascination. And the purple colored rose enchantment.

The rose is the birth flower for the month of June.

And for the nerds among us — A rose is a perennial flowering shrub or vine of the genus Rosa, within the family Rosaceae, that contains over 100 species. The species form a group of erect shrubs, and climbing or trailing plants, with stems that are often armed with sharp thorns.
